About this project

Alavito Yoga is an independent editorial project — not a guru organization, not a course funnel, not a sect with a checkout page.

Why this site exists

The English-speaking internet has no shortage of yoga content. What it has a shortage of is yoga content that respects the reader: guides written without mystification, upsells, or the quiet implication that you are one purchase away from enlightenment. We started Alavito Yoga to publish the kind of material we wanted when we began — clear, honest, complete enough to act on, and free.

What we believe

What we are not

We do not sell teacher trainings, we do not certify anyone, we do not run retreats, and we do not have a lineage to defend. When we recommend questions to ask retreat organizers, it is precisely because we are not one. If we ever add paid offerings, they will be labeled so clearly you could spot them from across the room.

How the site is made

Articles are drafted and edited by our small team, then reviewed against primary sources — the classical texts where relevant, and current research where testable claims are made. Illustrations are original works created for this site. Mistakes happen; when you find one, tell us and we will fix it with thanks.

Change yourself, the saying goes, and the world around you changes. We would put it more modestly: practice a little, every day, and watch what happens.
